As we entered the month of November, the state experienced a 51.3% rise in new COVID-19 cases. In response to this dramatic increase, the state has returned Orange County to Purple Tier 1, and it is clear that the pandemic continues to be the major crisis in our region. The Orange County Conservation Corps’ (OCCC) Corpsmembers and staff remain a critical support for our community’s families as essential workers at numerous food and water distributions and COVID-19 testing centers. Through these efforts, we hope to help Orange County’s residents despite the numerous obstacles many still face.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I would like to share once again how thankful and amazed the OCCC is to have so many inspiring young adults continue to answer the call to serve and positively impact thousands of Orange County residents. Their outstanding efforts to help at the pandemic frontlines are a true testament to their character and courage. On behalf of the OCCC, we wish each of our Corpsmembers, their families, and you all a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Katharyn O. Muñiz
Chief Executive Officer
