Message from the CEO
The recent developments regarding the U.S. COVID-19 Vaccination Program have provided a national sense of optimism as we approach the end of the year. However, it is estimated that the vaccine will not be available to the general public until mid-2021. With this in mind, the Orange County Conservations Corps (OCCC) Corpsmembers and staff must remain diligent in our efforts until and after the vaccine’s release as our neighbors are continuing to feel the effects of the pandemic. Our Corpsmembers have provided critical support at numerous food and water distributions and COVID-19 testing centers over these past nine months, and we’re proud to be able to contribute to our community’s pandemic response.
I would like to express how grateful and amazed the OCCC is to have our dedicated Corpsmembers. This year, these young men and women have risen to the occasion by eagerly serving at the pandemic frontlines and answering the call to help thousands of Orange County residents. Through this year’s highs and lows, their perseverance and strength have positively impacted our neighbors as well as our organization. We have grown immensely in 2020, and I cannot wait to see the new heights we will reach together in 2021. On behalf of the OCCC, we wish each of our Corpsmembers, their families, and you all a very happy and safe holiday season. See you all in the new year!
Sincerely,
Katharyn O. Muñiz
